CASE STUDY (20 Marks)
This project was designed to create an Excel time record for automatically calculating Overtime and Double Time according to California labor law. Our client had a division of its business in California. Employers in California must pay Overtime (A) For hours worked from 8 to 12 hours in a single day, (B) After 40 hours in a workweek, and (C) For the first 8 hours on the 7th consecutive day of work. The company must also pay Double Time (A) For more than 12 hours of work in a single day and (B)After 8 hours of work on the 7th consecutive day in a workweek. The California employees of this company were often working 7 days per week including on-call schedules, which made the calculation of payroll a nightmare. This spreadsheet eliminated the entire problem and accurately computed Overtime and Double Time using the 5 variables above.

Answer the following question.

Q1. Give an overview of the case.

Q2. Explain in detail the use of spread sheets and the creation of Excel time record, for paying overtime pay.
